BHMDEX owner/contractor, Blake Bassham, featured in 280 Living magazine, came highly recommended. We had always dreamed of adding a large screened in back porch to our home in Meadowbrook. The old deck, now falling apart, was built in 1995. For years, we had been resealing the wood, replacing parts, and struggling to keep it going. After reading the BHMDEX article, we decided to give Blake a call and have him come over to see what was possible and affordable. Blake met with us, presented a number of options, and gave us a quote for the screened porch, which was within our budget. We were impressed by the skill and efficiency of Blake’s specialized crews. The demolition crew had the old deck removed and gone in 24 hours. The foundation crew was very skilled in building a strong base of support for the new porch. They were very precise and careful, demonstrating top level construction techniques. They even added a layer of screen under the floor to keep out mosquitoes. During the next few weeks, the sides, roof and steps were built. Different specialty crews added the tongue and groove ceiling, electrical wiring, lighting and fans. After the stain work was complete, the screens and gutters were installed. It was fun to watch our dream come together. The finished porch is amazing! It’s hard to believe how much this has added to our home and our lives. The extra space for relaxation, and added value to our home, made this project one we can enjoy for years to come. Our deck was small and in bad enough condition that we rarely sat outside. When we decided on getting a larger, roofed deck we asked around and kept getting the same name brought to our attention.
